Opening Time and Ticket Price of Borobudur Temple and Prambanan ( Regular Ticket )
The Regular Opening Ticket Counter Time of Borobudur and Prambanan Tempel is started at 6.30 AM until 4.30 PM, but you could enter the temple from 07.00AM until 05.00 PM. It is mean if you buy ticket at 6.30, you have to wait until 07.00 AM to enter, and maximum to buy ticket is at 4.30 PM but you could still be inside the temple until 05.00PM.
Especially for Borobudur Tempel , the explanation above is for regular entrance only without any chance to go up to the temple, it is mean you are only able to visit only until the ground level. You still have chance to see and to take whole picture of Borobudur Temple, but you will not have any access to step up until the top level in Borobudur Temple.

If you want to climb up Borobudur Temple, you have to buy a different ticket with the regular one. This ticket is also a ticket for entrance, so you do not need to buy a separate ticket for entrance. It means it is a combination ticket to enter Borobudur Tempel and to climb up the monument.
By purchasing this ticket, you will get also a local guide to explain the history of the temple and special sandals made by local people. So you are not allowed to enter with your own shoes, they will give you special sandals called Upanat.
There is a limitation of 1200 people per day to climb up Borobudur Temple. The Opening Time of Climb Up Ticket is started from 7.30 AM and there is limitation of 150 people per hour. And the last time to have a chance to climb up Borobudur Temple will be at 15.30.
So when you are already at the ticket counter and the the quota per hour has been full already, you have to wait fot the next time window. That come every hour.

You can buy the ticket directly in the ticket counter in Borobudur Temple. There is a time window to sell the ticket. If you want to enter at 7.30, you have to be ready at 7.00 AM at the ticket counter and as well as other time. Also for a reminder, there is a limitation of 150 people per hour to climb up Borobudur Temple. So it means once you arrive in the ticket counter, you might missed the chance to buy the climb up ticket.
